Angeleigh Long
Angeleigh, age 10 is from Alvarado, Texas. She began working with her steer Toby early summer 2024. The Lonestar Wagyu Invitational was an exciting experience for Angeleigh to show for the M6 Ranch and put into action everything she had been working on over the summer. It was her first time to participate in an event and she was thrilled to have won two buckles.

When the judge asked her what her goal was with her steer, her response was "leghair".

Her days started early in the showbarn washing, grooming, and taking care of her steer Toby and stressing about his leghair. Alongside Kevin and Jessica Moore she learned everything about the breed from care, to breeding, calving, and she fell in love with working with the cattle. She really enjoyed spending time in the barn with Toby, but the highlight of the day was evening showmanship practice with Kevin and Jessica Moore.

When school and dance classes started in the fall she would rush home to put on her boots and get to the barn as fast as she could to work with her steer. Aside from her time spent with Toby and learning the care and dedication that goes into working with the cattle, Angeleigh was fascinated with the genetics, breeding, AI, and calving.

Her newfound love of showmanship has her ready to learn more, do more, and she can't wait until the next event.
